Craftsman circular saw CMCS551 won't run
Answeredbought a new Craftsman Circular saw Cmc551. installed blade, inserted battery and saw just makes a whirring noise when the start button is pushed. Craftsman sent me a new saw. The new saw does the same thing. Am I doing something wrong?

I also had a similar problem with my chainsaw. The saw only makes a whirring sound when the start button is pressed but does not run eggy car.

Check if the saw's safety lock or trigger is engaged. The saw won't start with the safety on drift hunters. Try pressing the lock-off button as you pull the trigger.
