The Stanley Bed Rock planes utilized patents by Justus Traut and Edmund Schade. They received patents in 1895 that provided more effective and finer adjustments of the cutters and frogs for these planes.
Around 1899, model numbers 602 through 608 were put onto the castings with the 'Bed Rock' name marked on the lever cap. The Bed Rock line was discontinued after World War II, but are considered by many collectors to be one of the finest planes on the market. |
