DCP580 depth
AnsweredI have a DCP580 cordless handheld planer and its depth adjustment is off. Out of the box it cuts deeply when set to zero depth. Placing a rule on the foot confirms that the blades are considerably proud of the base surface when set to 0. I think zero should mean zero. It should not cut when used on flat stock at that setting. Instead I would estimate that the shallowest possible cut is at least 1/32” deep. Also, the cutting edge is not in line with the plane of the foot. The right side is higher (deeper cut) than the left when viewed from a using position. Is there a way to zero the depth setting and to align the cut?

Hello Steven Schultz
We apologize for the delay, we would recommend you remove the blades and make sure to reinstall them properly, set the depth to zero, and test it, if the issue persists, you should contact a repair facility.
