Transmission issue between drive wheel and sanding belt – Stanley Fatmax FMEW204K
AnsweredHello,
I recently acquired a second-hand Stanley Fatmax FMEW204K belt sander.
The sanding belt struggles to move. At times, it rotates fully, but stops as soon as it comes into contact with a surface. In other cases, it does not move at all.
The drive wheel appears to be functioning properly, which suggests that the motor is not the issue.
I suspect a problem with the fitting or engagement of the drive wheel.
I would greatly appreciate your advice on the possibility of a repair, and any information you may have regarding spare parts or an exploded view of the tool, if available.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.
Regards,
Milan

Hello Anders,
Have you found a solution for my issue?
Thank you. -
It sounds like the drive roller may be worn or the belt tension is too low. Check the roller for smooth spots and ensure the tensioner is working properly. For parts and an exploded view, try 2helpU.com using your model number. You might be able to repair it if the issue is just with grip or alignment.
