Dewalt Battery Lawn Mower

Just over a year ago, we invested in a DeWalt self-propelled battery-operated lawn mower while stationed in El Paso, where the dry climate meant minimal grass cutting. Consequently, the mower saw little use during our time there. However, after relocating to Montgomery, TX about seven months ago, we encountered a problem five months later when one of the batteries failed to hold a charge. Initially, we brushed it off as a minor inconvenience, especially since we had extra batteries on hand from our long-standing loyalty to DeWalt. Unfortunately, the situation escalated yesterday when the mower refused to start, despite having two fully charged batteries. I double-checked that everything was properly connected, including the safety switch and key, which seemed to be functioning correctly. Yet, when I pressed the start button and pulled back the lever, the red "battery" light flickered on briefly before extinguishing, with no sounds indicating any attempt to start. After conducting some research, I discovered that this issue is not uncommon for this model, specifically MODEL NUMBER 18A-U2C2739 DCMWP233. I am reaching out to see if anyone has successfully resolved this problem through customer service or if we should consider this mower a lost cause and explore alternatives from different brands.

I’m having the same issue. Was working fine for a year and now won’t start despite 2 fully charged batteries.
