Dewalt double arm air hose reel

Hi, just joined this group, first post. Has anyone come up with a solution for the recoil spring in the dewalt (and probably other brands) air hose reel recoil spring? Apparently this item is unsupported as far as replacement parts are concerned. I'm hoping someone has come up with a hack for this, there must be lots of these out there with this problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

As for the spring in the DeWalt air coil, many people have tried using a similar sized spring from another tool or hardware store. You might also consider making a DIY spring from wire if you are comfortable with that. Good luck!
