1. First, slide the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The LCD should light up and the display will show the battery’s percentage of charge -

• 100% = fully charged
• > 40% = OK to start a vehicle but need to be recharged urgently
• < 40 % = NOT charged

(If the LCD display does not light up the battery might just be depleted and needs recharging so you should carry on with the following steps.)

2. Next you should check that the Micro/USB input socket is working correctly by plugging the Micro USB charging cable into the input port and the USB into an AC (2A USB charger) or DC power outlet. This should cause the LCD display to light up, the 2nd digit should begin to flash and show “IN”, indicating that charging has begun. You should wait at least 30 minutes to check if the charge percentage (%) has increased. If after this time the display will still not light up, then there is a fault with the product. If the display is lit, but the unit doesn’t appear to be charging then

3. The next step is to check the battery with a voltmeter through the outlet socket for the Smart cable (shown in image below). If the voltage is 13V or above, then the battery is ok. If the voltage is under 10V, or between 10V-13V after 3 hours charging then there is a fault with the product

• Steady glow
• Flash for an SOS signal
• Flash in strobe mode

If the LED light does not light up or you are unable to switch between the 3 modes, then there is a fault with the product.
