The 16-050 sharpening kit includes a honing guide, stone, and lubricating oil.

Step 1: Unfold the locking mechanism.

Step 2: Choose the appropriate angle you want to use between 25, 30, and 35 degrees. Most chisels and plane irons (blades) are beveled at 25 degrees.

Step 3: Insert the iron and lock it in place.

Step 4: Place the iron and honing guide so that their right side is on the cutting surface. Use the included oil and slide them forward and backward.

Step 5: Remove the iron, then flatten the back by sliding it from side to side.

Step 6: On a piece of scrap wood, rub the iron from side to side to refine the sharpening.
