The Number 2 Smooth Planes were manufactured between 1867 and 1961. The planes were 7 inches long and the cutter was 1-5/8 inches wide. They were made of cast iron with rosewood handles and knobs. These planes are general purpose planes. They were used by many woodworkers and cabinetmakers for squaring up small blocks of wood and making chamfers.
