There are several reasons that could be causing this to happen:
There is not enough power in the donor vehicle’s battery to jump start from. Try with a more powerful vehicle/battery.
The cable section (mm² rating) is not big enough for the vehicle to jump start or the engine is too powerful. Check your engine size and type and choose the right cable.
The batteries might not be connected correctly. Check that the battery terminals are clean and that the connections to both batteries are secure, making sure that the negative and positive on both batteries are connected correctly.
