All products used on UK building sites must be rated to conform to EU regulations.
Products produced for the US market are not manufactured to EU conformities. So using these products would be in breach of health and safety regulations.
The second reason as to why US chargers cannot be used effectively within the UK; is that to use the charger, you will need to use a voltage transformer to step the voltage down from 240volts to 110volts. This transformation process interferes with the chargers own transformation process, and can cause the charger to either damage the batteries irreparably or potentially can cause the batteries to overheat and melt, damaging both the charger and the batteries.
We strongly recommend that if you buy cordless products from the US that you do not use the US charger in any capacity in the UK.
